Personal favorite:

"Muff

Muff – from the Irish word "magh" – is a village in County Donegal, on the border between the Republic and Northern Ireland. Over the last decade, Muff has seen a huge growth in population, with people from Northern Ireland moving across the border. The first week in August sees the Muff Festival – and there's a diving club in the village called, yes, the Muff Diving Club."

UK is full of these names. People who live in S****horpe often find that email filters reject their addresses too!

Edit: Jemsite masks it too, I rest my case. The town is called Scun thorpe, all one word.

Reminds me of a few small towns near where I'm from in NC. One is called Climax and right down the street from there is Erect. Shouldn't forget about Cheeks, Cumnock and Horneytown either.

Similar to the Top Gear episode where they raced a diesel BMW, but didn't have real sponsors, and made up their own.

One side said "Peniston Oil"
The other was Larsens Biscuits"
But when you opened the doors, it read "penis" and "Arse Biscuits"

Yeah, that was for the 24-hour Le Mans race. Pretty good episode.

I work with maps all day at work and my favourite i've found while looking around has been in the West Yorkshire Street Map, where there is a pub called the "Moor [email protected] Inn" which is on "Moor Bottom Lane". small things amuse small minds when bored at work.

Re: UK town names - is this for real?

There's a town in Holland called Pernis!!

Which.....when you're under the influence and you briefly glimpse a sign that appears at a glance to say "penis" is hilarious
