Used gear market

Has anyone else noticed the used gear market seems dead lately? It doesnt look like anything is moving, even trades seem slow.

Re: Used gear market

I've had trouble shifting my RG1608. It's been on here once and on the bay a couple of times and I've had no takers. Hopefully the used market will pick up again sometime soon.

Bad time of the year too. Everyone is saving money for the holidays and most people have already spent every dime of their tax returns.

If you live in a place like Michigan, you'd be lucky to have a job, so I am sure the economy is dictating how much luxury spending is happening.

Re: Used gear market

I just bought one! Well, 2 actually. Got a 777VBK from Rich, and just won the 7PBK on 3Bay. The wife bought the PBK for me for our 5 year anniversary.

But I haven't seen many Jems being traded or on the bay lately. And where the f*ck are all the swirls?? Ibanez would make a killing if they would release a line of swirls man. I have one, but it was the 77PMC Rat on Rich's sold list. It is all beat to hell and back. I want a purty one damnit!!

Re: Used gear market

on 3bay, so many of people put thier guitars with a minimum bid so high, you could almost get one new, especially with the low end ibanez, which is what i am looking for at the moment.

i've been looking for some deals, but no luck.

Re: Used gear market

Its funny, I keep an eye on the bay and when I didn't have the $$$ for stuff there seemed to be plenty of what I wanted. Now that I have the $$$ for stuff I can't find what I am looking for. Thou I am eyeing a few 3120's for sale.

I've been sitting on a Jackson DInky Reverse for almost a year now, I'm not asking a mint for it, but no one is touching it.

Yeah, my beautiful RG770FM took me more time than I thought to sell.

Re: Used gear market

It's cool Cid - I am singlehandedly trying to keep the secondhand market alive - in the last two weeks I have bought a Gretsch Roundup (gonna get banned from Jemsite for that one - I can feel it coming!), Weber speakers for my AC30, Barden pickups for the Uber-Strat I am building and a MIJ 62 P-Bass body with all the bits.... need a neck for that now I suppose, unless I make it into a wall-clock!

Re: Used gear market

Well, let me know if you need a Les Paul, vintage Fender amp or possibly a JCM800 combo.
