UV1000 in an airplane hold - safe?

Would putting a guitar on a plane as hold luggage in a UV1000 case for two flights be safe?

Or would it actually get destroyed?

It's like flipping a coin. I'd either carry it on or leave it home.

If the hold is HEATED you will be alright.
If not heated, the average temp is around -20 F at 30,000 feet.

Re: UV1000 in an airplane hold - safe?

I did around five to six transatlantic flights with my UV1000 in the airplane hold, not a single problem, they protect like mad.

Be sure though (1) to really block your guitar safe (t-shirts- socks etc ...) so that the guitar doesn't bump around. I literally filled every single little square mm with clothes around and above my guitars (2) add some tape around the UV1000 just making sure it won't open accidentally (on most international flights you got to have the lock combo set on "open" so they they may check your luggage, and there's is always the risk it might open. As for the tape, they do readd some if they decided to open the case).

Yeah, also as it is "oversized" bagage, what happened to me (everytime) is it actually goes another route than regular luggage in the airport and was loaded/unloaded on the plane by special people taking care of the oversized ones. You can still ask them that.

Oh, last thing, don't be surprised though if your UV1000 doesn't look minty new after the trip, lol, but the guitar will be OK !

little bit of parcel tape is a good way to prevent accidental opening of the latches... should be fine
