Vintage Vinyl

Anybody else out there collect great records? Just scored 2 more for more collection today!

Original 1969 Apple pressing of The Beatle Abbey Road
Original 1959 Columbia pressing of Dave Brubeck Quartet Time Out

I picked an unopened 1977 pressing of Weather Report's Heavy Weather and a promo copy of Yngwie Malmsteen's Trilogy last week.

So any other analog enthusiasts out there??

Re: Vintage Vinyl

I actually found a slightly battered copy of Abbey Road (again on the apple label) for 1.

I snapped that up so quickly I think the seller is still having nightmares about nearly losing his hand

Funnily enough I took my son to London Zoo yesterday and he insisted on us driving. I was telling him all about the Beatles and telling him how close we were to Abbey Road. If he hadn't been asleep on the way home I would have taken him there.

Re: Vintage Vinyl

dad owns 3000+ cd's and 1500+ vinyl... yeah im into vinyl!!!!
i love analog, i use an analog headphone amp i designed and made with my guitar teacher (electric teacher, i have a classical one too) i like to monitor and mix with.

first vinyl i bought dad didnt own was david lee roth - eat em and smile, in melbourne, bought about 5 Van Halen records when i went to japan, 2 black sabbath.

most recently, at byron bay blues fest i bought a jeff beck record (blow by blow), my personal favourite!
jeff also played, i was up the front in the middle.... loads of small people asked to go in front, but i couldnt move.. jeff was too amazing.

sorry to show off :S

thats my jemsite moment of glory finished.

Re: Vintage Vinyl

Brag on brotha!!

I just missed 2 copies of Zeppelin II for $5

My vinyl dealer played one for me and it was super mint. I was pissed. The guy at who manages the pizza shop I eat at alot grabbed em up about an hour before I got there -_-

What kind of receivers you guys use? Mines a Sharp, and I'm thinking of getting a vintage Teac or Pioneer with a variac for better fidelity. My player is tip-top though, and always use Shure needles for best audiophonics.
