Website opinions

Can you guys take a look at my website and tell me what you think? I know that the intro animation takes some time to load and I am trying to figure out a way to delete it - unfortunately I am using a template that is preventing me from doing so.

Re: Website opinions

Slow to load, pictures are small, and I am on a very fast connection.
I'm disocvering that flash sites that have to drag out the load times are going to be dismissed and not used as much. It's cool at 1st, but the novelty wears off.
I think a good basic interface with easy access to the site's features is going to be your best bet.

Re: Website opinions

i like the colors but i agree with all that Bamm said. also, it would be much better i think if that square box was not in the middle of the screen where your text is. it just seems like it's floating there, i don't know, it seems out of place as if it's not really part of the page. just seems out of place...this box just sitting there. would be cool if you could get rid of that box with the margins and just have the text ON the page instead of inside a box. all in all, a little tweaking will be cool. i know you won't be able to do much since it is a template. the long load time on the initial screen isn't worth what you wind up with and i have a broadband connection. i did not however think of clicking off the site before it loaded since i wanted to see what came up. it held my attention long enough to wait. i would also recommend to anyone to get some pro photos up on your site. if you let the girlfriend or friend take the photos, although they may be alright, you wind up with regular photos. you need to be over the edge and since photos are part of the site.....that is how you can spice it up. some fan photos are alright but a site filled with fan - type photos looks unpro. i tell this to my clients all the time and will be shooting a couple bands in a few weeks just for their site....posed shots and live shots. do a search and i'm sure you can find a great photographer. i'm not knocking what you have up there, just trying to help you out. what is more appealing? photos of your ibanez by your friend or photos of your ibanez taken by Larry DiMarzio? you know what i mean. one band i will be shooting took their photos with a digital camera with them standing against a white wall and they are looking off to the left. it looks like bad highschool posing and needs to be changed especially since this band is so good and draws so many people to their shows. they need to look as big as they are. and since music is mostly about being perceived as something....if you look big, you will be perceived as big. hopefully this helps.

Re: Website opinions

Webpages that resize my browser window do not stay open for more than 1 sec.

Which reminds me - is there anyone who can tell me how to bypass this?
I can't believe anyone with a web page can decide how big my browser window should be.
It's the stupidest thing ever.

yes its Alt -F4,

other than that its a advanced function of the Browser which currently IE does not have a option for.

You can stop this behavior in Fire Fox.
In Fire Fox, Tools > Options > Content > Advanced JavaScript settings > Clear the "Move or resize existing windows" box.
