What was...

the first cd you bought?

I remember mine, it was YES - Big Generator.
My dad just bought a new stereo which had a cd player, cds were a new thing and everybody wanted to dump their k7s and vinyls.
I was at a mall and only one store started selling cds, the only one I found I could stand was that Yes one, I hated it, in fact I liked only one song however listening to a cd for the very first time was a pleasure, my teen friends came to my house and we kept listening to that song(Love Will Find A Way) endlessly cause we had a LOOP button

Re: What was...

The very first CD is bought was Possessed's Beyond the Gates/Eyes Of Horror. I already had The Eyes Of Horror EP on tape. I loved Satriani's solo at the beginning of Storm In My Mind.

Re: What was...

First albums I got were Peter Gabriel's ..So and Starship's No Protection. These were on cassette when I was about seven.

First CD from memory was Greenday's Dookie or Album39/Smooth. Not sure which one was first.

Re: What was...

I had plenty of vinyl before I got a cd player, so i'm not totally sure, think it was probably Slayer's Reign In Blood or Iron Maiden's Powerslave.

Rock on!

Re: What was...

"OU812" - Van Halen
"Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son" - Iron Maiden
Both bought at the same time on the Peaches on Sunrise Blvd near Federal in Fort Lauderdale.
If I had a time machine that store is the first place I'd go.

I still have that copy of "OU812". I had to buy "Seventh Son..." again after losing it.

Thinking of it even further... the MP3 album of "OU812" I'm listening to right now was ripped off that first CD.
