Re: Who is this dude?

He's a very good player but if you're going to listen to the new wave of Brazillian guitar players try Gustavo Guerra, Edu Ardanuy, or Kiko Loureiro. Some very sophisticated fusion playing can be found on the you tube or google try typing in
William Stravato, Akary Staradoub, Allesandro Bevenuti, Jean Marc Belkadi or Kurt James. I'd love to his this guy with a better sound and a band; I don't think
the typical backing track and poor sound is letting him show what hes really capable of. I loved his timing and note choice: it was'nt the typical three note per string shred patterns running some basic lick at crazy speeds.
You guys have to hear Conrad Simon-he's a left handed guitarist from Canada
thats appearing in Troy Grady's documentary on Shredding"Cracking the Code"-some of the cleanest picking ever. Simon has a myspace page where audio samples are available.

Re: Who is this dude?

^^^^^Yeah I guess I am just not that much of a fan of playing as fast as you can,,some of it almost sounds out of key or something. Just doesn't sound right to me.

WOW - he did this "thumb-flicking" thing around 1:45 in the first video. I like his playing and his intervals remind a little of Michael Lee Firkins.

Re: Who is this dude?

I'm very very impressed with his technique, but its nothing we haven't seen before tbh. Plus the song itself had no "flow " to it imo.

Oh, I do not thinks THAT rare. Anyone that has studied classical guitar seriously, especically any flamenco technique, has probably messed with encorporating classical, and flamenco technique. I know I have....
That being said...I still think he has some nice chops to be sure. just my .02. Have a good one!
