Wisdom Teeth pulled

Have any of you guys had problems after having them pulled?
I only had to have one pulled and it was over a week ago, and I am still suffering.

The doctor said it's normal. But ****!!!!
I have taken over 50 Lortabs over the last week, and all it does is knock the edge off.

I am gonna go back to his office in the morning and make that bastard do something or figure out what the hell is wrong.

If you had only let your son get his ears pierced

Just kidding with nothing but respect...

My wife had to have 3 wisdom teeth pulled on the same day while she was pregnant years ago. It was our second child and our insurance was really crappy. Because she was pregnant she couldn't have any good pain killers...She was in pain about 2 weeks

Man if there was a moment I wished we could redo, that would be one...

good luck and I hope you get that taken care of! Did they have to crack it? They might have left a tooth fragment by mistake. I'll spare you what my wife said...

Re: Wisdom Teeth pulled

I had two impacted teeth removed over the summer, and I know what you are going thru. I was in serious pain for 2-3 days, and then just plain miserable for another week.

I killed an entire prescription of pain killers in a week.

Re: Wisdom Teeth pulled

I was actually put under anesthesia, and all I really remember was sleeping for the first 24 hours. For the next couple of days I was going thru a pain pill every four hours.

After 2-3 days I tried just a Tylenol, but I quickly realized that the pain medication was I was taking every four hours had not fully wore off. After that little experiment, I stuck to the prescription stuff until it was gone.

If you are still in serious pain after 5-6 days, you may want to check with the Doc anyway.

Re: Wisdom Teeth pulled

I had all of mine - 2 top ones normal extractions, bottom two surgical extractions - removed by a military dentist. Despite his rank of major, I can vouch for the fact that full-time army medical personnel are those who cannot succeed in private practice.

These were done on separate days, all under local. That makes for interesting listening when you hear the dreaded word 'Oops', followed by 'That'll need additional stitching'.

Luckily the slip in question didn't quite exit via the cheek.

Hurt like buggery for 2 weeks, but the worst thing was the smell. Keep the disinfectant mouthwash handy.

Re: Wisdom Teeth pulled

I had two wisdom teeth pulled about two years ago, it wasn't all that bad. Just felt a bit weird having two large holes there insted of teeth.

I'm sure the pain will pass, hang in there.

Re: Wisdom Teeth pulled

I found the constant taste of stale blood and the raw throat were worse than the jaw pain.

Rock on!

Re: Wisdom Teeth pulled

I had mine done under general anesthesia 25 years ago. I took 1 Tylox after coming home for the pain while the demerol was wearing off. I passed out, slept for 6 hours and woke up pain free.

I have a very high pain tolerance.

Re: Wisdom Teeth pulled

Well, I was sitting in the dentist parking lot when he opened. Turns out I have Dry Socket.
I am so tired of this crap. If I would have known that I was gonna have to deal with this crap, I would have kept the wisdom teeth.
