Wrong decisions by Ibanez

Have you heard?

Ibanez will not participate in the biggest European guitar show in Frankfurt .

What a fatal decision !

So there will be no press reports of Ibanez , which is particularly annoying because Ibanez 2016 is very innovative .
One will wonder if Ibanez is no longer interested in the European market , whether Ibanez has financial difficulties , etc.

How many customers will lose Ibanez who had bought either at the show or on the basis of fair reports a Ibanez ?

A big thank you to Ibanez ! By ESP , Jackson , LTD , Schecter , Charvel , ...

No Musikmesse?

That's stupid. What guitars sell well in the European market?

Re: Wrong decisions by Ibanez

As Rich mentioned in another thread, it's unlikely that such a major distributor wouldn't exhibit at Europe's biggest trade show.

If Meinl choose not to exhibit, that's on them, not on Ibanez.

That said, I doubt that they're too worried, the line up isn't set to change too much this year and the big reveals have already been done at NAMM, which is so well attended by EU folks anyway and has lots of blog based Internet coverage that missing a European show isn't what it used to be anyway...

Re: Wrong decisions by Ibanez

@63 Blazer: The same ones like in America, I can`t find a difference. Concerning Ibanez, it`s interesting, that the premiums are more liked in Europe, than in America.

@jono: I don`t know, who decides to exhibit in Frankfurt, Meinl or Ibanez. But in the last years there was a discussion, if the concept of the musikmesse is up to date.
And I agree, that the big reveals have already been done at NAMM.
But -like you said- it`s Europes biggest trade show, and Ibanez should be there.

Dirk.
I don't live in Europe but I imagine when you add taxes and VATs and such (many of which we don't have in the US) and exchange rates the spread in price between Premium and Prestige is probably greater than it is here. I think that might contribute to Premiums being more popular in the EU.

Re: Wrong decisions by Ibanez

The only Premiums that will be in the US [except basses] are signature models. Premium guitars are all based in ZPS systems Ibanez lost the lawsuit on and won't be distributed in the US.

The german distributor for Ibanez will probably be there. Ibanez has always IMHO been uninterested in the european market. Kinda like Sony is not interested in EU when it comes to the PS4.

Re: Wrong decisions by Ibanez

No, the distributor (Meinl) won`t be there, too.

Meinl is top, they care about customers very well, the staff are friendly and competent, but they are not at Musikmesse.
