Question Which band should hang up the towel?

I looked and i didn't find a poll like this one.

There's many bands that have been through the test of time, but some more or less than others. Which bands do you think should call it a wrap and just accept their role in history? Comment below and back your opinion up!

Voted other. Who? None. I would like to play music for as long as I'm able to. I can't see why I wouldn't want others to do the same. The (lack of) audience will let them know when enough is enough.

I hate all those bands so it's not a case of hang up the towel but I wish they had never recorded 1 song.
Wait........................I used to like U2 in the beginning.

I believe when the singer can't sing their stuff any more, it's time to either stop or take up a new sound. Like Ian from Deep Purple really shouldn't be singing deep purple stuff any more, he can't get even close to it.

Actually, I vote Deep Purple (even though hardly any of the original band is there now).

Van Halen should officially hang it up.

I voted "other" for Iron Maiden, for two reasons:

- IMO their recent stuff is boring
- Bruce's voice is long gone

Re: Which band should hang up the towel?

Interesting to see people would like to see real bands stop playing. Enjoying the autotune tracks too much lately?

Can't sing, can't play... Pfft... I'd rather have real bands with questionable voices/performances than polished singback acts lipsyncing to autotuned tracks. But hey, whatever floats your boat...

KISS far anw away. When you own the "rights" to the "Spaceman" and have a hired gun pinch hitting it's time to call it a day. Their first reunion tour with the makeup should have been their swan song.
Funny to see Metallica get so many votes. hahaha!

Queensryche- How can a band of this talent miss the mark, repeatedly in terms of music and composing.

Red face Re: Which band should hang up the towel?

I think it's similar to your favorite athlete and when it's time to retire...Nobody likes to see superstar fumble around like an idiot!

The Kiss thing is interesting, because I loved the 70's era, when Ace had a pinch hitter doing the studio stuff, or was kept in line enough to play! I LOVED the 80's era, when Vinne, Mark and Bruce brought better technique to the table, and Eric helped them forge to a poppier yet heavier sound! Everything after Eric died has just been an attempt to catch that lightning in a bottle! The new CD sounded great except for the fact that Tommy was made to sound like crappy Ace!
