Re: Bolted neck or Neck-thru?

I like bolts for playing because of the option to have an unfinished neck without modification to the guitar. But if more guitars had necks like technomancer's KxK 8 string(I'm too lazy to copy/Paste the link, it's in the 7string section) that's a set neck without a finish, then either would be fine.

i agree the non-finish neck is even faster than the gloss, but i'm in love with this thing just yet!

i prefer the feel of a neck through, but bolt ons would be easier to adjust, and if something serious were to happen to your neck, you could at least get a replacement neck without scraping the body.

If the guitar plays well and sounds good then it doesn't matter either way to me.

Oh Tubarão, Sir you are a craftsman. Damn that is nice.

Re: Bolted neck or Neck-thru?

Bolt-on is pretty much all I've owned, guitar-wise. Both the basses I have are neck-through though. I actually prefer bolt-on though, particularly square-heel.

Re: Bolted neck or Neck-thru?

bolt on and set neck. not big on neck thru's. only because i know that extra bit of maple will really brighten up the tone a lot more than i want. thats why i prefer vaneers over full tops as well

Gulp !! is that one of yours Will ?

I like the look of neck through but bolt on is more practical.

Re: Bolted neck or Neck-thru?

Bolt On because if you have a bad neck problem you can buy a new neck on a neck-thru you have a beautiful piece of firewood.
