It's not that, dude. See if you can find some videos or interviews where Steve is talking about EVO. Yes, the could build him more JEMS, but not another EVO.

The fluorescent red/orange PGM that looks like a PGM200.
Paul's RG7621 (I think) painted and modded to look like Telesevalas.
Adrian Smith's Destroyer.

Don't have to apologize to me, dude. I was just filling you in on what Steve thinks about it.
But I can kind of see his point. Hasn't anyone else here had a guitar that just fit them perfectly; that had that certain something that no other guitar had? I know I have. Sadly, I let it go away, so I can see if he would be upset when it comes time to retire her.

ahhhh yes now i understand where you are coming from.i was the same with the 777vbk swapped it for a 777vdy (no regrets though) even though its the same guitar i just loved the feel of that vbk.i wouldnt part with my vdy i love it to bits, but there was something special about that vbk.

As valuable as it is, and IT IS, that's not actually the first Strat, just a very early one; maybe about the 80th made. It got the 0001 serial number because it was the first one ordered with gold hardware, and Leo stopped and thought, "I should probably be numbering these things..."

This is a very cool guitar! I would love to own it but I'd be too afraid to play it. Hell, I wouldn't even look at it cross-eyed.
Black Strat would be cool to own too.

David Gilmour probably thinks the same thing. He likely goes all Nigel Tufnel on people:
"No, Don't touch it! Don't even look at it!"

Yeah, I know, but how cool would it be to have? The 0001 serial number, AND it was owned by David Gilmour!

Plus, if times get hard, I could sell it to some rich yuppie and buy my own small island.

Rock on!
