Favorite type of Pickups

What is everybody's favorite type of pickups? Let me know if there are any that I missed. I tried to narrow it down to the more popular companies

I voted Dimarzio but I havent tried Bareknuckles or Lace Sensors or any really custom wounds that were top shelf.

Polling should be disabled for new members for 100 days from registration.

This is like a boxers, briefs or freeballing poll. Doesn't matter what people vote, you're going to stick to your guns because it feels right to you.

I vote dimarzio just because of the variety.

Definately in pink, and yes you have me to thank for that.

I think that Bare Knuckles are the best pickups I have ever played. It is important to match the set to your axe/requirements, but they are awesome.

Re: Favorite type of Pickups

Les Pauls demand boutique Peter Green matched sets. Everything else gets DiMarzio.

DiMarzios, but just because I've already had a sample of their popular models. So far I'm quite satisfied with what I'm hearing.

Re: Favorite type of Pickups

I'm a big fan of Bare Knuckles, but it really depends on what the guitar is. I love the SD 7 string singles for example.

Re: Favorite type of Pickups

I love the Dimarzio Blazes in my RG7621 because they are so versatile, and I plan to get a Crunch Lab soon for one of my six-strings, but I've been dying to try Bare Knuckle pickups; unfortunately, no stores have them where I live and major manufacturers don't have them as stock pickups in any guitars AFAIK, so there's nowhere to try before you buy...

It is a major problem with all pickups. You just can't take in your guitar and try them out.

I really wish that there was some sort of universal system plug and play system, but I guess it would be too difficult to do worldwide.

You should give Bare Knuckles a go. You need to get the right model for the guitar you are using/sound you want as they can have quite a focused and distinctive voice, but they are worth a shot.

As I have said elsewhere, I have been so impressed with Bare Knuckles that I am moving all my main guitars over to them in the next year. Only my hot pink alder custom strat has exactly the sound I want, with Dimarzio Paf Pro and HS3's.

USB? It wouldn't be hard to do. Take PCs for example. It doesn't matter where you are in the world, IDE is IDE, SATA is SATA. The power supply will differ, but that's it.

This is something I've wondered about for a long time; why the electronics of a guitar are so archaic and unfriendly to work with. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that something having to do with guitar should be *gasp* archaic, but I do find it funny that I can put together a complicated, mult-component gaming PC with a single screwdriver since everything just clips, locks, and plugs in together, but I can't do that with a GUITAR.

Re: Favorite type of Pickups

I think it would be a cool idea to have sample guitars where you can just put in the set of pups you want and just put the wires into something like speakers have where you just push them in and then you could test whatever pickups you wanted. If that makes sense ha.
