I re-listened to them all... Wow, everyone did great over this sort of difficult track! You guys are amazing... but in the end I gave both Wilch and Craig_Shaft my vote because I couldn't decide which one I liked better... hats off to you two. Absolutely fantastic playing!!

CS nailed it, gets my vote, but Wilch was sooo close too with the cool rendition of the track with his dueling guitars!

Re: Jemsite Guitar Challenge January 2105 - Poll

Hi all, great entries from everyone again!

My favourite two this time are Pirataz's and FireEagle's. Pirataz's bends are out of this world, they remind me that you can have wild phrasing without abusing a floating tremolo :P I also like his general approach to improv, which seems to me a little Blackmore-esque in the way that well-placed gaps are created in the melody. The notes that are left out can be as interesting as the ones played!

FireEagle's was a pure tone-zone, he explained on soundcloud how he recorded it but there must be some magic mojo going on in there somewhere. The mixture of rhythm and lead playing is great too - there is an effortless feel created. The guitar tone, combined with your soloing style, and the track, reminded me of Ritchie Sambora of Bon Jovi - which has to be a good thing

Wow... thanks for the compliment! Means a lot coming from a player of your caliber with killer sound. I changed everything for the Feb guitar challenge blues track though... just posted a few minutes ago. Different guitar and ME-80's built in usb interface, with presets I made in just a few minutes. Hope I didn't go backwards... lol!

Re: Jemsite Guitar Challenge January 2105 - Poll

Again I really enjoyed everyone's entries. I loved the video logicbdj did, I thought the tone and mix on Fireagle's was spot on, and Pirataz sounded great (and kudos to you for providing such a killer backing track), and I thought Laobi riffs were a great complement to the track. Gotta say tho CS killed it... loved that JS sustain the beginning!

Good job everyone!

I'm really digging Laobi's track. You get my vote dude! Love the bits in between the recurring theme (love that you turned it into a song too, that kept me listening). Go the wang bar abuse!

Thanks for the kind words FireEagle and Pirataz! Awesome choice on backing track too.
