Jemsite Guitar Challenge October '14: OFFICIAL POLL

In this thread you can vote for your favorite submission! Kind of a low turnout this month, as usually we have 6 or so. Feel free to leave comments and feedback if you wish, but always be polite! You may select more than one, if you wish.

Once again, a big thanks to the participants!!! I'd also like to invite any others to join the fun. It's always a learning experience and a good way to get some feedback on your playing. This is just for fun!

You can join the current edition soon... I'll try to get it posted up tonight.

If I made any errors, please let me know!

This time's participation - 3
Record Participation - 9

It sure did go fast... threw mine together in a couple days and got it in late. Oddly enough... I just needed to come up with something after the breakdown in the middle of that track to be finished, so I worked out a few licks for coming out of the breakdown and then just kept recording... and that last improvised part (after 3:35) sounded better than anything I had come up with intentionally... lol... until about 10 seconds from the end when I hit a sour note while descending... doh! I left it in.. I was done.

Would have liked to hear what you could have done over that track! Hope you do the Nov track... its a cool one.

Re: Jemsite Guitar Challenge October '14: OFFICIAL POLL

Firstly, all three submissions were very well done! Kudos to you guys for taking the time and effort - and you delivered some very nice music over a track that was not easy, imho - nicely done guys!

Laobi - you've really showcased some great techniques with your phrasing, legato and alternate picking - very nicely done!

FireEagle - I always enjoy listening to your submissions because I think you have a nice sense of melody and a good ear for focusing on the right notes rather than trying to play too many notes - great work man!

m t soule - for the poll I gave my vote to you - not because it was better than the other guys (because music is not about what's "better") but because I liked the vibe that you created with your phrasing - and your arpeggios were smooth with note selections that fit nice over the chord changes - well done sir!

It was hard to pick so again kudos to you guys - very nicely done!!!

Cheers,
Ron
