Re: Priest v. Maiden

As far as the music goes, I'd have to go with the Priest. If we're considering only the lead singer, it's got to be Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden over Rob Halford.

Re: Priest v. Maiden

Iron Maiden gets my vote today, but I love both these bands and which I prefer will surely vary day to day.

Re: Priest v. Maiden

Maiden - I like some of their hits but don't like about 90% of their songs still awesome band that spread heavy metal as a virus around the world(thanks Maiden).I prefer Bruce solo career but still Maiden hits are classics.

Priest - Extremelly cheesy and crowded by metal cliches on a unbelievable level + crap singer who is part of the most terrible torture machine ever = record Halford and Axel, pan them hard stereo and make somebody listen to it for 15 minutes = terrible death

Re: Priest v. Maiden

My favorite Maiden album is Dance of Death, dunno why everyone likes Number of the Beast better than it, Dance of Death, Rainmaker, and No More Lies are all sweet tracks.

Re: Priest v. Maiden

My GF is working a beer tent @ Rockfest in Caddott Wisc this weekend. She saw Maiden last night and said it was mind blowing. She heard that it may be their last show ever in the US??!?!?!

I got to see Priest on the British Steel anniversary tour a few years ago. they were great. She was with me too so she has seen both but I couldn't make it out for Maiden last night

Maiden - Reached their creative peak at Seventh Son, and thereafter have done nothing even remotely as original, and at one point descended into laughable self-parody. Add to that a singer who has been atrocious for at least 20 years.

Priest - Pre-date Maiden by at least a decade, and had a huge influence on them. Have changed their style through the ages while remaining original and true to their back catalogue. One of the most influential bands in Metal.
