S540 or RG 1570

Looking for opinions, and differences on these.

Im ready to purchase a guitar, I have had an offer for an S540 and I also found an RG 1570 for the same exact price.

I do like the S bodies, but the one I used to have sounded weak.

I play metal, looking for best sound and thinnest, fastest playing neck.

Either one is well suited for metal. The S is mahogany, the RG is basswood. It depends more on pickups and amp settings IMO to get a metal sound

Re: S540 or RG 1570

taracatac is right - either one will work for metal...but I had to vote for the RG cuz I love the RG shape....plus I had a S470DXQM and I traded it in for my RG2550z and I haven't looked back...and the 1570 is a sweet RG...plus I'm willing to bet there are way more metal players playing RGs that sabers...go for the RG

The S540 will have a Wizard neck, Edge or Lo-Pro, and 22 frets. The RG 1570 will have the Wizard Prestige, Edge Pro, and 24 frets.

Re: S540 or RG 1570

If you don't need the extra frets, go for the S540. If you do, get the RG1570. Both guitars are the s**t and you'll be super happy with either guitar.
