I can see that. That's not to say that I can't get my Mark III close to a Marshall, though.

I own a Mesa Boogie F-100. I also use an array of BOSS pedals. Since I play rock covers, it is perfect.

If I was playing originals, I'd still like it.

Tons of crap but really only use my Carvin Vintage 50 w/ matching 4x10 cab. Small, simple and sounds great. I'm new and need to post but does anyone own a Splawn? I've read good things but the world seems full of expensive, boutique amps.

Re: The Ultimate Amplifier Poll 2

I have a Marshall 2550. I am pretty sure it is the one slash used to use, but mine is from before the silver jubilee series came out. Here's what it says on the face, I can't find any info about it...

I'm gonna go with Line 6. No tubes, no speakers, no fuse. Better sound, better versatility, more stable, less weight, and more fun. People ask me "why, why get rid of tubes?" Because screw 'em, that's why.

Re: The Ultimate Amplifier Poll 2

You guys have alot of nice amps.

Moibanez, I've got a Mesa Mark IV 1/4 stack that I bring out to my bigger gigs. Mine's like an '87 or so. This is one of the amps that truned me into a Mesa guy.

I'm trying to work towards a Mesa Roaster 2x12 as well. Hopefully after the first of the year I can pick one up. How do you like yours?

supermau, I played a couple of those Kustom Coupe series amps and loved them to death. I was lucky to hang out with the designer of the amp (also designed the 5150, XXX and the JSX before leaving Peavey) and played thru the 1x12 while he was tweaking knobs for me on it. That was a cool experience and he was a cool guy that spent around 1/2 hr talking and jamming with me.

Re: The Ultimate Amplifier Poll 2

An ADA MP-1 3TM Ultra+ modded preamp, soon running through a TC Electronics G-Force (That is, like, tomorrow), one of the stereo outputs goes into the poweramp of a solid-state crap-Marshall, and to amend for that I use the other stereo output into a ADA Microcab II into a Tascam 244 portastudio from -82 or something, into the Home-Stereo System. I know you doubt it highly, but the tone kicks major ass Though I'm saving up for a Mesa Boogie 20/20 Poweramp and a 2x12 V30 Cabinet.. Ah well, life's a bitch ^^
