Re: What leg do you use?

Playing right-handed guitars (although I am a lefty), I usually rest it on the right leg, since I'm used to it that way. Sometimes the turning of the torso gets tiring, however, which makes me switch over to the left leg. Being a rather big guy, I have no problem reaching the lower frets, but I don't really think that upper access is facilitated by the classical position, since the balance is a lot more delicate when, atleast I, use that position. Using the right leg allows you to press the guitar tightly under your right arm.

Re: What leg do you use?

other: sometimes left sometimes right,

I play on a swivelling chair between my computer and my footcontroller/amp so it depends on where I sit when I start playing. Left is slightly more comfortable, but more risk of hitting my desk.

Re: What leg do you use?

This is an interesting poll.......never really gave it any thought. Like others
mentioned,I've tried it with my left leg since reading through this thread and
I find it to be pretty comfortable. I answered other though.....just because
I could.

Re: What leg do you use?

I play right-handed. Although I do everything else left-handed except throw a frisbee

I started out on the right leg but switched to the left. For me it's more comfortable to play on a thin neck using the left leg. It's also easier on my back because I have a tendency to twist slightly to the right when playing on the right leg.

I use my right leg, but after reading this thread i tried the left leg boy it feels different but you do get better access to the higher frets which is cool, but im a righty.

Classical players play it on their left legs because it helps them keep their left hand in the proper position.

I do both, if its something easy i just leave it on my right leg, but if it has bigger stretches i put it on my left leg to make it a bit easier to get at.

Re: What leg do you use?

I rest my guitar on my left leg. While I do love my guitars, I reserve the "middle leg" for something else...

Re: What leg do you use?

I tend to play guitar in classical position (left leg), as you get much better upper-fret access. I also find that it's more comfortable.

Re: What leg do you use?

This poll made me try the left one instead of the default right. And I have to say I like left! Gonna try left a little longer to see how it works out.

Re: What leg do you use?

Left for two reasons: early on, I studied classical. later on, I grew a gut and now it gets in the way on the right leg!

Right leg to lay down rhythm tracks, left for leads.

Rock on!
