Original Edge, and then Edge Pro. Not a huge fan of the Lo Pro.

Re: What's the best Edge tremolo?

i've played an edge and an EZ, so i guess i can compare the two.

funnily enough, i found the original edge more comfortable on my palm than the EZ and it also had as low a profile as the EZ.

however, the thing i like about the EZ, despite it's "cheapness" and minor flaws is the stability of it. it almost feels like a fixed bridge to me (this is with the ZPS bar in of course).

Edge 7 is the best tremolo, followed by the Lo-Pro 7x

Re: What's the best Edge tremolo?

I have all of the Edge tremolo's and my order is 1) Edge 2) Lo-pro Edge 3) Edge Pro 4) Zero.
To me the original Edge I have in a JS is the most solid feeling of them. It also has the smoothest whammy action of them, and just seems like the notes ring out better. Also flutters the best. I have a Lo-Pro in a JEM and it feels pretty much like the original except it just doesn't feel quite as rock solid and the notes don't quite sustain as long. Also the whammy motion isn't quite as smooth (still good though). I have Edge Pro's in a JEM and an RG Prestige and they are good, about tied with the Lo-pro, just I really don't like the whammy action on these. The tremolo springs feel like the spring rate changes as you depress the bar. It's not a big deal, but the Edge doesn't do this. So if you play Vai stuff where he changes and holds notes with the bar, it just seems harder for me to hit the exact note right off with the variable spring rate feel. The first three are all good tremolo's though, I was just giving my thoughts on there differences. The Edge Zero though, I hate. I had one in an S series that I got rid of after a week because I couldn't stand the trem. It felt like it never wanted to stay in tune, and I didn't like how you could pull up on the bar just a little bit and it was super easy, and then when it hit that internal bar it was hard. It just felt chinsey and cheap to me.

If it was an S it had a ZR, not an EZ.

For me it comes down to what mood i'm in. Sometimes i prefer the ZR and other times it's the Edge Pro.
