Woohoo!

I'll look forward to watching this when I get home from work!
I find interviews with Vai to be so interesting.

Thanks for posting!
I would think the leveling and fret replacement cost would be enormous. I suppose it's not an issue with vai with all his endorsments and stuff like that, but it's just not practical for the everyday player (by that I mean average income).

I remember reading on here awhile back that he was having this done to all his guitars. Cool to see him explaining it!

Stainless steel frets would be the way to go because a local refret would be impossible.

Re: [Interview]Vai talks about the True-Temperament-Guitar-Neck and his new Doublenec

I know this has been covered in other threads, but every time I see Vai or Gilbert talk about their relationship with Ibanez, it just blows my mind. Can you imagine just picking up the phone at any given time and saying, "Hey, I was just thinking, wouldn't it be cool to have a (insert crazy guitar idea here)?" And the next thing you know a box shows up on your doorstep with that guitar in it, courtesy of Ibanez? Wow.

Awesome

Very impressive sustain from the true temperament neck too. I cant help think that bends would be a bit awkward though, surly the bend will be a bit unpredictable compared to a standard straight fret?

Good point! It would be cool to try one out and see if there is anything you have to change with your playing style. Pressure, finger placement etc...
