Time for the obligatory NGD post.
My first new NEW guitar since 99, my first new Jem, and my first time buying directly from Rich @ IbanezRules.
Anyway... I can't say enough good things about Rich and the service he delivers. I was late to the party on ordering one of these, yet he kept my info and when he lined up more he reached back out to me and offered one. I already had one on order with AMS at the time, but decided to order with Rich anyway, with the silver setup package. Eventually I cancelled the other order with AMS.
Rich kept me up to date, all through the slightly long wait, through the time he got the guitars in, and finally through the delivery phase. The guitar was packaged magnificently, and arrived beautiful and unscathed.
The guitar is great (for what it is). I knew not to expect a sweet late 80s Jem, but more of a modern take on it, with the classic aesthetics. The setup is fantastic, the guitar plays great, and looks pretty cool too.
The knobs and switch tip, well.. Ibanez could have sprung for better parts. The neck is very different from the late 80s Jems, but not necessarily in a bad way, just different. The Evo's... well, I'll just have to get used to them, not really in my top favorites anyway, anyhow...
And last but not least... the pictures!
17 and 87!
My 3 Jems. Never thought I'd have 3 Jems..
My Green guitars... This is kind of funny to me, because I don't particularly like maple fretboards. These are also the only guitars I have with maple fretboards. Go figure.
I'll post some unboxing pictures later.
