'04 7vwh ebony!

To my amazement I managed to find an '04 7vwh with an ebony neck, thats right '04. You see in the very beginning of the year Ibanez was making '04 bodies but they still had a few '03 necks around. So they used up all the ebony '03 necks before making the spec change to rosewood. I paid $1604 for the axe, case and insured shipping but i recieved no setup or locking studs. Can somebody please give me a link or something as to where to buy some locking studs, thanks in advance.

They started making rosewood board necks in late 03', not 04'

If what you say is true, they should have send me those ebony necks, not put 'm on 04 vwh's. Naturally.

Which leads me to ponder: if one is to get a _replacement_ neck for an old vwh, would you be getting ebony or rosewood... ?

phlame, what makes you think it's an '04? Is there some marking that indicates that it is or did the "dudes" tell you that?

No I haven't even seen it yet they just told me that it was an '04 body with an '03 neck. But whatever I don't really care just as long as it is a tight jem with an ebony neck. And rich I will hit you up with an e-mail for some studs.

The big question then would be how the honorable seller could distinguish between a 03 and a 04 body.... Perhaps you can ask that..

The VWH specifications were changed for '04 to have rosewood boards.

All '04 VWHs have rosewood boards.

Some '04s have '03 serial numbers because the necks were produced in late '03.

If you have an ebony board, your guitar is an '03.

I would not get your hopes up until it's in hand and you can verify the actual wood of the fretboard. I have no doubts some "sellers" will mistake rosewood vs ebony. ...glen
