A 10, a vwh or the new 2003 JEM?

Ok here's the deal - In a month or so I'll be getting enough money to get a new guitar. I've already got a sweet DNA and I'm wondering which to go for next.

I've been thinking either the 10 or the vwh but I've also heard some of you jemfest guys (gabe.. ) hinting at a new ltd edition JEM this year.

I'd love to hear from any of you that either know about this new JEM or have both a 10 and a vwh as I'm really torn on this one.

Thanks in advance guys

The jem10 is far superior in my opinion to an 7VWH model.... infact, its probably the best ibanez guitar ive played, certainally up there with the best, the newer jems are nothing special to me, they feel very mass produced and plasticy.... for all the prestige treatments and this and that, they still dont feel all that solid to me. Although im sure a DNA style run of limited editions would be to a very high quality standard, so if there is something new like that, its always worth checking out...

its tough having to choose between such great guitars, lol.

my vote would be to wait and see what the 'new' jem is. otherwise go for a jem10

Something is telling me that whatever that new Jem is, it won't really measure up to either the 10 or the 7vwh.

If you have the money AND the opportunity to buy a 10, i don't see a reason not to buy it. I think buying a 7vwh is a lot easier, so you can always do that later on.

But then again -and boy this is cliche- but it's all a matter of opinion, some like a 7vwh better than a 10, and some don't. We can't tell you in which category you fall.

Oh well, if you dig the DNA, my guess is that you dig the 10 better than the VWH.

My girlfriend says that girls dig white guitars better than black ones, but hey, she dug me too and i have a 10. ;->

Are you a player or a collector? Will it be a guitar that you'll be gigging with, or will it only be played at home, etc? That would be the #1 determining factor for me. I'd take a 7VWH as a "player".

A JEM10th, being a black guitar, wouldn't be the most practical decision if you're going to be playing it a lot. Aside from the gloss black finish scratching fairly easily, it'd be a good idea to put some standard black pickups in if it'll be a "player".

However, if the guitar isn't going to be subjected to normal play wear, I'd probably take a 10th as my first choice, the VWH as my second, the "new" JEM as my last.

the "new jem" is a FP. too many discussions about this one.

the 10 is a no brainer over the VWH.
