2 Questions - high pass pot & body

ok...I want to build a guitar. With a JS body and everything else I'll put custom and stuff....with a swirl paintjob. Now, I found a guy who would make a copy of a JS body for me.....for 550....now should I buy the body? Or buy the complete JS and rip it apart and build it back up? Also, I'd like a high pass filter and the single coil tap, now if I put a seperate volume knob for each pickup (les paul style) does the high pass filter only work on the pickup the volume/high pass filter is asigned to? Thanx for your help.

When you can get the full deal for not that much more I'd buy the whole guitar, the parts you don't use, I'll buy from ya As for the techy stuff, boy was that Degree in Electronics wasted on me!!

If this guy builds the body, from where do you plan to get a neck? If the JS neck is not a huge problem for you I would *get the whole guitar and then modify it.

Good luck!

The high pass filter is simply a capacitor, I believe. Jems have this too, only it's not switchable. I never really saw the point of having it switch, but that's just me. If you want it switchable, you could do it with only one knob, if you bought the right pot (). However, if you want a volume control for each pickup, it may be easier to use a micro switch instead. Same goes for tap.
