I have an incoming js2000 to compliment my 1000 and 6000..
am i right in thinking the the necks on the 1000 and 2000 should be identical?
the neck on the 6000 is more chunky,,,, what is that neck?
..
Merci dudes..

The JS2000 neck is CHUNKY!!! I thought all of the Prestige JS necks were the same. Modeled after Joe's favorite neck.

Re: 2000 1000 6000 necks?

I too have a 1000, 6000 & have recently got a 2000

I'm glad Satchmo said about the chunkiness of the 2000, because that was my first impression. I haven't bothered trying to measure them but to my hands the 2000 is easily the chunkiest, followed by the 1000 (pre prestige) and then the 6000. Have never played a prestige 1000, although as Satchmo said, I thought all prestige necks were the same too.

I've had my 2000 since December but only got round to stripping it down and setting it up a few weeks ago - wasn't too sure about it at first. but now I'm hooked - absoluteley fantastic guitar. Incredible tone & sustain, silky smooth neck and and I've only had to tune it once. For me it's a keeper - pictures of these things do not do them justice.

Have been meaning to do my first (albeit belated) NGD post, but just haven't had the time.

Only gripe I have is that I can't get the action as low as I'd like & certain notes are fretting out.....I must have done something wrong, because it's hardly ever been played so fret wear is mininmal.....anyway I guess that's a question for another post!

Congrats on the new guitar

That's strange.. i was under the impression all 1000's had a prestige neck...mine is quite an old one...so maybe it doesn't have one either...its so thin compared to the 6000...so Im really excited to see how the 2000 will feel..should get it tomorrow or Tuesday..
i love these guitars...
im get addicted.

Re: 2000 1000 6000 necks?

well i got the 2000 and the neck plays better for than the other two...
it feels just like the 1000 but it looks brand new,, there's no dirt and no fret ware,, unlike the 1000 which is on its last legs in terms of frets,,,
so im guessing when i get the 1000 refretted it will play the same as the 2000...
im really stunned by the condition.. i does have a whack an the top edge but you cant see it...
conclusion.....WOW

Congratulations on the new guitar - glad you like it.

I guess maybe it's my imagination with regards to the necks...Like you, my 1000 has been played a lot whereas the 2000 is almost brand new, so maybe my hands are confusing the thickness of the neck with that well played feel of an older guitar?
