Well I thought I'd start it over here as well seeing as its already been installed in Vai's Flo 2 guitar. And if he likes it, which he does I'm told and fits it to a production Jem you can be sure all you guys will very quickly want ot have one! Whats it called? Keeping up with the Jones'.....Everything doesn't have to pretty to function flawlessly, in fact you'll find that things that look good don't often work very well (book/cover scenario!)

Time will tell, but I'm sure the same arguments were around when Floyd gave his prototype to a young EVH all those years ago.......look what happened then!

I agree, if it's going to be an anniversary, it needs to be a floating trem., however, I would love to see a string-thru on the next new Jem, but not the 20th. Imagine the sustain on a string-thru! My favorite, they look great too, check out a Schecter.

I hope so as well, however, based on the price of the BRMR, I doubt it!.

Why? The Ibanez 90th anniversary Jem model was out nearly 10 years ago. The 100th Ibanez anniversary is therefore in a couple of years. 10 years after the 9oth to be exact. Why do you need to be under 40? I am 30 anyway but I don't get your point? Ibanez made an Ibanez 90th anni Jem model , a PGM 90th model, a Petrucci 90th model and a Satriani 90th model. The Jem 10th was also made. It just so happens the Ibanez90th and Jem 10th anniversarys are close together and so will be the Jem20th and Ibanez 100th anniversaries, if you can follow basic maths!

Re: 2007 - 20th Anniversary Jem?

i'd like to go on record saying any theoretical HAM100 (2008 ) guitar would be absurd and a disservice to ibanez customers... glen

Why? Don't you think 100 years is an achievement?

Re: 2007 - 20th Anniversary Jem?

not in the context of pseudo anniversary pricey models.

it's not like Hoshino invented the gutiar or did anything significant 100 [or 90] years ago... glen

Re: 2007 - 20th Anniversary Jem?

Eh, if they do something as nice as the PGM90 or JPM90 I have no problem with 100 models, but I think the Jem and Satch 90s were pretty lame compared to their counterparts.

Blue flame top Jem with bound ebony neck and MOP vine would be cool

Re: 2007 - 20th Anniversary Jem?

So a company shouldn't celebrate 100 years in business by producing a product that best defines their achievements ie the guitar? A 100th anniversary model is far more worthwhile than the 90th was.

How you can say that an anni 100th model is a disservice to the customers is almost perverse. Maybe they should stop producing any guitars in their anni year.....would that be better or more of a service to their customers...ie, you and me!

Re: 2007 - 20th Anniversary Jem?

100 > 90 is meaningless as the 90 was ridiculous.

leave "signature guitars" out of the HAM. if you want to create a NON-SIGNATURE HAM100 that is another story, but i'm talking HAM90 type nonsense.

there will be a jem20. there will be a jem50k. you gotta know when to say when.

look, i fully expect people to want a HAM100 but i stand by my comments and don't anticipate chaning my tune here... glen
