They're actually made in Japan, huh? I wasn't aware of this... that big price tag seems just a little less obscene now. Doesn't look bad, really.

Me, I'd take that $1400 and put it towards a decent 777DY though.

I don't know why this just hit me, but it needs chrome hardware and pole pieces, then it would probably be my favorite current production Jem, at least when price is factored in.

Also wouldn't look bad with a black PG and colored pups and knobs...80s style!

Re: 40 + Jem505WH up-close pics

I'm guessing Meestersparkle gets things like this so quick because he's in Japan. Or is this already officially out in the US?

Anyway, that's a nice looking Jem in spite of all the lame bitching and moaning about it. I was guilty of that myself before I wised up and almost decided to buy one.

Really like the maple, but price is still too steep for V pickups. Whats with all the crappy pickups lately? It cant cost that much more for Ibanez to put in decent pickups. Its plastic, magnets, and copper wiring.

This really annoys me, ibanez finally bring out a decent jem with the EDGE tremolo, decent specs, yet people still moan and complain about it!! people have got to understand that ibanez as a company need to make profit, and theyve made this jem so that its affordable yet still really good.

Couldn't agree more. Some people wouldn't be happy even if they had the LACS make them a guitar with unlimited options for a hundred-dollar flat fee. DiMarzios would've raised the price, and lots of players are gonna switch out the pickups anyway. So, saving a bit of cash on the V-series makes so much sense . . to those of us who have some in the first place.

Peace

Mike

I'd have to disagree. For a guitar that's as is with no setup, that price is rediculous.

Anybody wants to know what these should sell for, drop me an email

Re: 40 + Jem505WH up-close pics

I agree with Rich. The 505 is even more of an "RG with a hole in it" than any of the other JEMs ever had been. At least the DBK had a unique finish and inlays. This guitar is an RG550 with a handle.

The point of signature guitars, is that you're buying and playing what the artist is playing. Steve wouldn't use this guitar, especially not with V-series pickups.
