$1,100. is really a STREET price. IMO $1,300 with case is right on.

That still wouldn't be far off. The case is separate from Ibanez. The same place sold those for $139.99. As far as the DBK price, I'm basing that on what I saw where I used to work. I left the sales floor shortly after Winter NAMM 2002 and it's very possible that the store may have increased their prices on these since then. $1300.00 for both sounds relatively close. But, you always need to shop around and I will sometimes pay a little more if the accompanying service is great.

Hmmm- I remember seeing them with tags on at local guitar stores for $1199, then add on $100 for the case... there ya go. Not the best price, but apprently, the going conventional rate.

I've seen these often tagged at $1199 plus case and sales tax. I know for a fact that if you negotiate the price, you can get both guitar and case for around $1150-$1175 including sales tax.

From my experience anything around $1000 in a SamAsh or MarsMusic is negotiatible. Is this typical of all Music stores?

I thought it was a little expensive considering I can get a brand new VSBL for an extra 300 or 400. Mine came with the case for that price, but honestly I thought when you bought the Jem the case didn't add anything to the price cause it's supposed to come with it.

The case should come with it in my opinion... but even off of musicians friend website, you have to pay extra for a case... which kinda bites.

I can't believe any of these companies will ship without case. Every US shipper has one rule, instruments must be shipped in original hard case to be ellibible for claim if damaged.

Before I bought my VWH, I did some research here. Most people agreed that a great deal is around 40% off list. The DBK lists for $1600 and the UV1000 case is $170 for a total list price of $1770. Subtract 40% ($70 and that brings it down to $1062. If you buy the guitar at a retail store you will have to add sales tax. Of course that does'nt mean that the store will sell it for that price, they are in business to make money after all. Brand new for $925 including case is hard to believe, and many here will agree. That comes out to roughly 47.75% off list. If in fact that is true, it's the greatest deal I've ever heard of for a "BRAND NEW" DBK. Used pricing seems to fall in the $800-$900 range for clean DBK's.
