7VWH or 77Vbk

Im want to buy one of the aboves. I was just wondering what everyone preferred??
Also can some one tell me when they are realeasing the new jem?
So my theory is when the realise the new jem the 7VWH's and 77Vbk's will reduce in price quite a lot? When do you think this would start happen?

Si

Re: 7VWH or 77Vbk

Steve has rumoured there's a new Jem that'll be available next year and we should start to see those in the spring.

the UK prices of the JEM7VWh won't really go down when the new jem comes out, they haven't ever really done so over the last 15 years, the 77VBK might decrease a little but I doubt they'll blow them out for huge savings as they have some previous models as this latest jem has been fairly wll recieved.

oh, and I think you should get whichever one you liek the colour of best, black or white, simple as that.

The prices don't go down, they just lift the restriction of what pricing dealers can show, so we can show the prices we'd really sell them for.

Oh i see well i suppose now is as good time as any to buy. Got to flog a few otehrs to get em but. I still cant decide.
I always thought of they swapped the gold hardware off the 7vwh with the 77v black hardware that would look awesome. maybe i should save up for both!!!!

Different woods and pick ups. Alder + EVO or Basswood + Breeds. Both awesome combos. Try and let your ears and fingers decide.

I would pick an old 7VWH with ebony and lo-pro than newer models.

Re: 7VWH or 77Vbk

I think what it willl come down to is playing each and seeing what i prefer. Why do you think the older 7VWH is better than the newer One? I know the difference is the low pro, ebony board and non 5 piece neck but why?
Just curious....

Re: 7VWH or 77Vbk

I own both, the fretboard on my 2002 VWH is slightly narrower and made of ebony, compared to the rosewood slightly wider board on my 77vbk.

I prefer the VWH by a country mile, but prefer the looks of the VBK.

The sound and feel of the VWH dump on the VBK from a great height in my opinion, but I can't help but feel the VBK has a better finish and feels better made.

If I had to chose between the two, VWH, although I can't speak for newer models of the VWH. Invest in an ebony board VWH

Re: 7VWH or 77Vbk

I had to make the same decision about 3-4 months ago. I went with the 77vbk, Evos were a bit to harsh for my taste and I just liked the Breeds+basswood combo better. I too am a sucker for black guitars and the mirror pickguard is like icing on the cake! and overall it looks amazing and plays amazing, Your choice in the end about which pickup + basswood/alder combo you like better and which one you like in looks, hint hint VBK.
But go with whichever feels better in your hands.
cheers!
