Is this ad for JS legit?

I was under the impression the JS models were just JS100(lower line)
JS1000(high ends) and the special edition chrome, blued, and BSB JS's.
Is there such thing as an earlier JS1 model, I saw this ad on ebay and
wondered if the info was correct. Anybody let me know something pls...
Thanks

Yes it is as Ryan as pointed out

Rich Harris is a great person to ask about JS guitars, click on his banner 'Ibanez Rules' at the top of the page.

Cheers

"A '1' is the ORIGINAL top line JS. It has the same specs as the JS2 (Chrome), JS3 (Donnie), JS4 (Rainbow), and JS5 (Rainforest) except for the finish. These are original Edge equiped just like Joes. When the cheap JS100 was introduced they changed the JS1 model # to JS1000 so that the best model didn't have a lower model # than the cheap Korean version." - RICH, Ibanezrules

I added a blurb that finishes answering alot of the questions I get.

JS1's - before I'm asked *again* "What's a JS1?", a 1 is the original top line JS. It has the same specs as the JS2 (Chrome), JS3 (Donnie), JS4 (Rainbow), and JS5 (Rainforest) except for the finish. These are original Edge equiped just like Joes. When the JS100 was introduced they changed the JS1 model # to JS1000 so that the best model didn't have a lower model # than the cheaper Korean version. All pre 98' JS1's and 1000's do not have the digitized multi radiused fretboard that was introduced in 98'. This means that post 98' 1000's will setup with slightly lower action.

Yup there are JS1, JS2, JS3, JS4, JS5, JS6, JS10, JS90, JS100, JS600, JS700, (I cant remember if there is a JS6000), JSY2K, JS1000, and JS2000CG

I think I might have missed one in there somewhere. The JS line has/had many models (or versions of models I should say)

The JS6000 was the same as the JS6, but with Cosmo Black hardware, dome knobs and the lame "Joe Satriani" plaque inlay.

And was also available in "Trans Red" along with the SOL finish previously found on the JS6

Oh yeah that crappy little plaque inlay!! I hate that thing. reminds me of a 555 JEM. I have plans for my JS700 to remove the plaque and plastic dot inlays and replace them with abalone dot inlays and an abalone blank plaque.

What one was that one again? Was it the JS1000 with the neck plaque?

I forget specifically, I know it doesn't have the push pulls but there's another detail I'm forgetting.

900 just has a basswood body, not 'American basswood' and an original edge. Comes in regular black too, instead of nasty BP

We still get the JS900 in Black Pearl. We get the JS1000 in white and BTB.

Not sure if it has the digitised multi radiused neck either, but it has the same fretwire as the 1000.

yeah, the 900 is no multiradius, no high pass (but all current JS models have the coil split), original edge

(afaik)
