Another new old FP day

Seems like everyone around here is picking these up lately! The prices seem to have come way down on these, so I snapped one up. This is the guitar that made me fall in love with Ibanez back in the day. I remember these being sold on e-bay in the late 90's for around $750. Too bad I was in college and that was totally out of my budget.

Anyways, I was pretty floored by the condition of this guitar when I unpacked it. The trem is in near mint shape, which you almost never get on old cosmo trems. It's a '91, so it's the first of the LoPros. There are no neck pocket cracks, almost no fret wear (just a tiny bit on the three high strings on frets 1-3) and only a couple tiny dings. Headstock logo is in perfect shape other than a tiny chip at the tip. My cleaning of the neck seems to have possibly stripped what remained of the finish on the back of the neck, so that may need to be resprayed some day. The knobs and switch tip have also oranged up a bit, but the pickups are still nice and pink. Would a new set of white base knobs have the nice original shade?

Anyways, enjoy.

Thanks, Rob! This one ran me $1400. Between the guitar I sold you and an RBM1 I sold locally, it was close to a wash.

Stunning guitar! I bet she plays as good as she looks.

It does play nice. I really like the middle pickup for clean tones. All I need to do is re-shim the nut and adjust the intonation. The clearance at the first fret is perfect on the low E, but the high E drags on the top of the fret.
