Smile Any good Ibanez blowouts in sight? (Jems and Prestige-models)

What do you think? Will there be blowout deals on Jems and other high-end Ibanezes this year? It would be nice with similar blowouts like few years ago on RG3120s and Jem7VSBLs.

Hopefully yes.

I think that there are good odds for the blowouts because Ibanez is introducing so many new models. Did any European members buy one when they had those crazy blowouts on the RG3120s and Jem7VSBLs in the USA?

I didnt see any good deals on the Jem7VSBLs when they were phased out, but thats what we'd expect in the rip-off UK! I ended up buying a jem7V WH beacase if its true and the next jem has basswood with breeds them I think the alder/evo Jems may actually go up in desirability if production of this model is ceased.

deals are only possible if your distributor has many instock (ie. VSBL & 3120 in the USA and lesser models.) I don't see the BRMR closeouts coming myself as there was an elimination of production and they're offering dealer discounts from what i can gather to unload them slowly (unlike VSBL which was just abandoned). that said you never know. either way it's also unfair to expect any dealer/reseller to comment as they might have paid inventory and such... glen

I haven't heard of any dealer discounts. I know they had zero left without problems and they were waiting on bodies to rebody the binding sep guitars. I doubt they have enough to worry about a blowout, especially with the bump sales figures got once they leaked it was being discontinued.

The SBL was blown out because it was Lo Pro inventory and they had to move it to bring in the Edge Pro models.

I jumped on one of the VSBLs with the LoPro when they were blown out. Glad I did. Great guitar. Don't think I would have been able to afford it otherwise.

So whats the real differece between Lopro and EdgePro? (other than the metal sound chip thing as Ibanez call it on the Edge Pro), its starange that Mr Satriani and Vai seem to prefer the LoPro, is it made of a different metal, is it solid steel rather than a aluminium based alloy?

To me, the difference is that I know how to change the strings in a LoPro!

Satch prefers the Edge because of its weight balance when using the bar. At least, that's what he said to me, maybe that's his PC answer. I doubt they worry about the metal, since they have techs than can (and do) swap their trems whenever needed.
