I really hope that the 7BRM is a one year only limited issue and next year we get a 7V in a solid colour + a 7DBK replacement + a limited edition Jem 50K or Jem 20th (or both) of some sort.

Re: Arggghhhh Do not buy a 77Brmr

I saw one at a store recently and the dealer actually used it as a selling point: "It's gunna look awesome when it gets all scratched and worn."

I agree, frankly.

Still can't afford one though.

BR MR

Broken Mirror

I doubt anyone would be insane enough to do it at the price of these things, but I've seen it done with mirrored pickguards... put a rag on the body and smack it with a hammer... give it that bullet hole shatter look.

Lol,, that was my idea a year back or so,,when we started dreaming of a new jem models. My thought was and still is the broken mirror style like Paul Stanleys warlock from the old days of Animalized would have kicked arse. Now hearing this about cracking,,,well,, that would sort take care of that problem. Plus I'm sure that the mirror being busted up would relieve tension.

If the factory cracks the glass, it's their bad luck.

I actually want a new solid colour jem7v as well, but this time in black, with the same gold hardware, tree of life inlays but with ebony fretboard ! now that will be sweet !

Re: Arggghhhh Do not buy a 77Brmr

You know, for a Korean Jem, the 555 BK is actually a nice looking guitar. I dont care for the half vine inlay though....and the fact that it's made in Korea
I think that with a full vine like the VWH with gold hardware would actually look pretty cool.

Re: Arggghhhh Do not buy a 77Brmr

That's a shame, really. I was VERY close to buying one of these (at a price that would make your head spin off) but for me, Ibanez stopped making guitars that I would buy in '02 (except for the EP7 that I have) because of the trem issue. Yes Iv'e played one and compared it to my DBK and could not justify the price difference. Don't get me wrong, I love my Jem's but in the last couple of months Iv'e bought a Epi Zakk Wylde and a Jackson Randy Rhoads and I dont see me buying another NEW Ibanez in the future......Again, That's a shame....................

Re: Arggghhhh Do not buy a 77Brmr

I got a 2004 Jem 7VWH with edge pro and a 1990 540SLTD with edge...

edge pros are great trems... the fact that the locking allen screws in the hight adjustment have been removed will cause problems is speculative bull****.

I actually like the edge pro better than the edge and find it an improvement, IMHO.

I agree that the finished crack would actually make it look cool. Create your own patterns!!!
