ATD Swirl

Please delete this thread if it breaks the rules. It said no auctions but this isn't an auction.

Anyway I noticed guitar center is selling an ATD Swirl for a $6,000

http://used.guitarcenter.com/usedgea...stId=104665791

Anyways maybe it's just me but this doesn't look like an ATD. It looks like one of the japaneese swirls.

Re: ATD Swirl

Looks like a MKR finish to me as well. Plus IMO a *little* over-priced

Re: ATD Swirl

It says ADT not ATD so perhaps this gets around mis-advertising !!!

Don't ADT sell burglar alarms - I didn't know that diversified into swirls

While ATD stands for "About TIme Designs", the company who did the Passion and Warfare swirls, as well as the DNA's, "MKR" isn't a company...it's an acronym for "Mustard, Ketchup, & Relish", which are the three condiments that the japanese swirls most resemble.

The difference is very clear between the two in pretty much any example. You won't find one that looks like the other.

Re: ATD Swirl

................ shucks, it's not that bad..... at least it has a TINY bit of black in the swirl .......

There is an MKR for sale in Sydney at the moment for $9999AUD - that's close to $9300USD..... the shop owner said that figure is "negotiable"....

ATD swirls are more desirable than MKR and thus more expensive. For the visual difference, check out this thread:
