Bad Jem/UV karma

It all started with my favorite guitar of all time: the UV777GR. Im sure some of you watched the auction (a few months ago) of the molested UV that had been painted black. Well I was outbid due to my frickin internet connection crappin out in the final 10 seconds. I needed a new keyboard after that one.
Then my heart nearly failed when I found online an UV777MC at Guitar Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was a passion and warfare paint job. It was listed at only $1700. I called that GC with credit card in hand but some dude just literally walked out the door with it before I called. Im sure someone here owns the beast. Then came a Jem SK for a $1000. Yep, missed that one by a hair. Then another SK came along for $1200 that was just about in mint condition. Now Wednesday I just happened to search Craigslist for a Jem and there was a FP in really nice condition for $1200 a few miles from my front door. Rarely do I find Jems locally that aren't a VWH so I was pretty exited about this one. I made the mistake of not responding soon enough and someone scooped it up just before me. Why do the guitar gods hate me? I guess the good news is it seems some deals are out there for Jems and UV's.

Def bad karma. Get out of that mindset. Think positive and the guitar/guitars will flow/come to you easily. Works for me

Wow! Terrible! That reminds me of catch-every-red-light day. You know, you're in a hurry to get somewhere and you catch every red light between here and there. As opposed to catch-every-green-light day, which I hear exist, but I have never had one. T.T

You need to spend 23.5 hours a day online searching for deals!

21.5 is the nominal amount

I kinda feel your pain dude. I called up a store that had a near mint universe for 500. Called then up, told them I wanted it, just wanted a picture to make sure it was real.

About twenty minutes later I got the email and called them up card in hand. "Oh dude, we just sold it" I was soooooooooo mad.............

I beat you to that UV777MC, but still didn't get it. I was on the phone with them, and as the clerk went to get it--it was being rung up for that customer right then...
If the $1000 SK you're talking about that was in our classifieds--I did snag that one...LOL

Re: Bad Jem/UV karma

If you want good deals on guitars, you need to be extremely dilligent about looking for them and if you find them, pull the trigger. Has nothing to do with karma. If something is truly a great deal, that means other people are on it as well so you better act fast. People are often surprised at the deals I get.

Pretty sure it was an ATD due to its pinks and more neon green colors. The GC picture was pretty crappy, but looked more like the paw colors. It was a sad day indeed. I asked the GC employee if the guy who bought it seemed happy with it. It made me feel much better when he said the guy was freakin out about the guitar. So at least someone got a guitar they probably always wanted and just wasnt going to flip the thing the next week.

Re: Bad Jem/UV karma

The biggest tell, even from a crappy picture is the amount of yellow. ATD's had extremely little yellow. MKR's have very prominent amounts of yellow.

Re: Bad Jem/UV karma

wanna find good deals? go to craigslist and look for things along the lines of "ibanez 6 string with handle." or "ibanez 7 string with cool inlays". thats when youll find the gibson/fender players who have no idea what they really have! and youll get super expensive guitars for almost nothing! is it mean? maybe. but hey, im not forcing them to sell them for so cheap. its not my fault i have a good knowledge of the ibanez world
