Blaze Custom? - I like my Super 3 but...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My UV777BK just arrived at the store. The first thing I did after I got it out of the case(after almost drooling on it) was plug into a 5150 combo(I have the half stack) and dial in my setting.
I had a completely different tone, which I was expecting, but it lacked chunk, and some of the grind of my 6 string. The scooped mids (opposite of the Super 3)of the blaze are supposed to drive the amp less, I know, but I didn't expect that big of a difference.

I like my Super 3, if they made a 7 string version of that pickup, I would buy it right now, with the guitar on layaway. But the closest thing is the Blaze Custom.
My question is this, does the Custom sound more like classic high-output humbuckers? Does it sound anything like the Super 3?

Try Duncan's distorion 7-string pickup. I've never heard one but I'm guessing it's your best bet.

Ummm, I though I posted here before, but maybe not.
I love my UV777BK pickups. *In fact, if you yank the pickups out of that guitar, Im interested in buying them to put in my 2027.

Does the Blaze Custom have the 'burning' overtones of the Tone Zone and Evolution?

Sorry about that, I only got that offer to buy my pickups the first time I posted.
One was a genuine accident, too. Posted in the wrong forum. I wanted to delete that one, but I'm not an administrator.
Thanks for not deleting all of them.

What I'm looking for is something that has alot of the warmth of the Super 3, and some of the scream of the Evolution.
I don't think the Tone Zone 7 is what I'm looking for, I hear that's reallly bassy. I've pretty much narrowed it down to the Evolution 7 and the Blaze Custom. If those don't work, I'll try the TZ. DiMarzio does have that trade-out policy.
Anyone know if they'll do that for pickups that come stock?

Ok, I really need to make a decision here.
THe Mars near me stocks the Tone Zone 7.
I think I'll try that and hope it works, if not, there is the trade out.

Don't forget about DiMarzio's return policy... Mars will usually just refund your cash on pickups.
