But now everybody wants one How predictable people are
It's not that I want a VSBL specifically, it's just that I'd like to see something cool in the JEM line again... The 7vwh just doesn't do it for me, and I thought that something like a VSBL would be less outrageous (and therefore more marketable to the mainstream) than a 777LNG reissue.

I guess I was wrong again, as usual...

I wasn't talking specifically about you and you're NOT wrong because the Jem line (for the most part) has been getting less and less outrageous as the years go by. Look at the new production models offered in the last several years as compared to 10, 15, 20 years ago??

I kinda miss the old "outrageous" days myself

Maybe a sign that Steve Vai himself is, um, maturing, for want of a better word?

Re: Blue Sparkle JEM?

If you guys had the same tastes in clothes as guitars you'd be crying about there being no flares anymore.

I think guitars are accessories aswell as instruments, and you dont see many people wearing bright outlandish colours anymore.

Plus Steves tastes are changing just like everyones do, looks like he's prefering the more subtle models now.

Maybe in a few more years we'll end up with sunbursts and flamed maple

Re: Blue Sparkle JEM?

I like the blue sparkle reminds me of my strat. However my strat is a silver blue sparkle. Makes me feel like a spaceman.

I actually like the new black one. (I even bought one.) The very colorful ones in the past were not for me. I agree, though, that the color choices provided by Ibanez at the moment seems a bit limited.

Re: Blue Sparkle JEM?

I'd rather have the blue floral with the maple fret board.

2 cents spent...
