Re: Boa Jem.

Is that a paduak and wenge sandwich? And forgive my ignorance but is the cross ways as opposed to lengthways laminates strong enough to work in a neck like that?

Yes, Pad and Wenge. Its no more compromise than a normal scarf joint

Actually, I think this is brilliant. It divides the string force over 8 glue joints instead of a single scarf. It seems you've essentially eliminated the possibility of shrinkage, crown, or twist.

Looking at the cavities, I'm guessing your right. It sure makes for a pretty intense look.

I know this is Al's last, but somehow that's just not sinking in......

Re: Boa Jem.

It was hydo dipped guys. It was done about 14 months back, it was an area51 body that I was going to swirl prior to quitting (sealed and primed in poly) I had one done in Merc Gold, one in Boa, one in Carbo Fiber and then one in Durex rubber Hot Pink. Sadly the firm had to make money so instead of finishing them then got on with easy work on flat panels to stay solvent, hence they are still in business and I now closed down LOL. Do it proud Al, I am sure you will mate.
