Body woods - are they all the same per model #?

Are all Jem 7's alder? The spec sheet doesn't say so.
The JEM10th is alder? I would assume since it's very very similar to the 7Vwh.

77's and 777's are basswood?

Is there any difference between a JEM10 and 7Vwh other than cosmetics?

The 7's are basswood except the VWH which is alder with a thin basswood veneer to accept the finish better.

Not sure about the 10, but I think this is also basswood.

77 and 777's are also basswood

May be some exceptions, not 100% on this.

Cheers

Veneer basswood? I don't understand.... Isn't alder a harder wood that gives a different sound? So most Jems are basswood? HMMM...

Body woods

excerpted from http://www.jemsite.com/axes/htm_features/spec.htm

<<<<<Body: Two-piece American Basswood (except the JEM7VWH, which is Alder)

Note from Ibanez - The JEM7VWH "has a super thin 0.5mm basswood veneer on the top and back, We do this with all alder woods because otherwise the finish would settle into the grain and have lines like a strat does in it after a few weeks. We do this with only alder wood that has a solid or metallic color on it. Just to let you know.">>>>>

What Kenny said.

The Basswood on the VWH is not there to change the sound in anyway, just to lay a better foundation than Alder can provide for the finish they use.

I understand. The basswood is just for the finish of the paint. Also something has been done to stop it from yellowing. It's half a mm though! That's like a thick piece of paper!

I need a 7VWH man!
My 555 is playing great and I think i'm definately going to the route to install a Lo Pro. It just plays sooo great compared to other Jems despite what anyone says. I don't care about those opinions anymore.
Thanks guys...

BUT what about the JEM10. What kinda wood?
