Broken Potentiometer, Upgrade suggestions.

Hi all,

my Js100 suffered a lil' breakdown today, the volume pot (which has been loose for a while) broke in the middle of a recording session. I opened the cover to see that the pot had moved too much and one of the cables (white) detached.

I'd like to get your suggestions for a replacement, and how to take it off...the knobs don't have any screw and since i've never done any kind of electric job on this js (i'm more familiar with an old strat) i have no clue how to take them apart...should i just pull them until they come off?

also, what new pot do you suggest?
I heard someone talking about a high-pass filter one but i have no idea what that is.
500k or 250k? what is the difference?

Also, if anyone has the wiring diagram, that would be mint.

Thanks a lot

All you have to do is re-solder the wire back to the lug.
Go down to the tech section and read thru my pickups and wiring sticky--plenty of info on soldering in there.
Why would you want to just start yanking wires out of the other lugs???
The pot is not damaged--just a connection that came loose.

yeah i know re-soldering would be enough.
But the knob is loose, and since it dances back and forth, it puts stress on al the wirings.
that's why i want to replace it (or fix it).
I also need to replace the pickup selector as it doesnt stay in the "bridge" position

The pot is loose, pull the knob and tighten it. The knobs pull straight off.
