Buying a replacement pickgaurd

I know there are a lot of online shops above that make anything from blank necks to fully custom guitars. but im just looking for a stock Black pickgaurd to replace with my BRMR's pickgaurd. i think it might look cool. but i dont really know.

does anyone know anyone who sells the cheapest pickgaurds? like i just need a normal jem pickgaurd. 3 layer black/white/black.

It is for shielding. Reduces noise. The two custom pickguard places I have bought from did not include it. The shileding tape is cheap, and the most important part to cover is the area with the pots & switches. You can get it anywhere, a good music store, stewmac.com.

I believe that even allparts, and dimarzio make shielding tape as well. Their package will have enough for one or two guitars You don't need a giant roll of the stuff.

Re: Buying a replacement pickgaurd

aww man. i was hoping to find an obnoxiously large size roll.

idk, i had a funny thought in my head that had to do with that shielding tape.

well at least i now know what that stuff does. good deal. i like less unwanted noise.

wow, shielding paint? and it has the same effects?

so what do i do, do i put that stuff on(tape or paint). where dont i have to put it?? i know around where the tone and volume pot go and the pup selector. but is that it? then all ill need to do is put the electronics on the new pickgaurd right?

just plain and simple?

Re: Buying a replacement pickgaurd

For a pickguard on a front route guitar, shileding tape is the way to go.

The paint is mostly used for inside body cavities. Usualy rear routed cavites, as it is easier than trying to get tape in those hard to reach corners.
