Camera-shy 777DY?

Has anyone else noticed that Ibanez's "Desert Sun Yellow" is almost impossible to duplicate on camera? Every picture I've seen of the 777DY, including those in catalogues, the digital photos on Jemsite, and the ones I've taken myself, has the guitar come out as a rich yellow ... almost "School Bus Yellow." In reality, it's more of a Gatorade "Original Lemon Lime" yellow ... like the greenish-yellow colour of a glow-in-the-dark sticker when viewed in the light.

Just thought that was funky -- photos of my JEM look nothing like the guitar in real life -- and figured I'd share.

Obviously I've been thinking about this too much.

That's an interesting point; it's been so long since I saw a DY in person...

Glen; what type of camera do you have?

Glens got the goods. The SLR Canons really are good. My dad has one, can't remember the model. (He's a freelance photographer).
He has actually stopped using colour film, because the quality of the Canon is so high, saving his customers a fair bit of money as there is no giant print cost.
He still prints black and white film (does it himself in the studio)

Glen get us some pics of the DY and show off your toy.

I have yet to see fluoroescent colors accurately reproduced on film or digital formats. Some colors come out rather vivid but never exactly the same. I believe it's a comparison betwwen the limitations of the film, display monitor, or the printing processes versus the pigment properties of the original subject. This is especially true with mass-printed things like catalogs and such due to the 4-color prining process involved.

I've wanted one for quite a long time. What makes you think I'd tell you if I spotted one?

Answer: My wife

Ok, well, I'll do that for you and you do the same, too, in case I hit lotto. If you see any Peavey or Fernandes Vandenberg models, too, lemme know.
