Oh its not mine. I wish it was. dude I met on a different forum was talking about carbon fiber guitars, and I showed him my RG im workin on and he pretty goes "in yo face!"

If you look carefully you can see he mated the fabric on the sides carefully. He used epoxy resin and vacuum bagging. Im currently picking his brain on this stuff.

Re: carbon fiber JS1000

I have to say though, that doing that to a fairly common, metallic black guitar probably has the least visual impact possible, even if it is relatively more difficult to actual pull of the modification on that body shape!

I made a mistake, he built the body completely out of carbon it weights 5.4 pounds!

He made a mold of the original, and then made the rest out of carbon fiber. So its not just a visual thing. I love it, personally.

Ok, I'll definitely admit a molded carbon fibre JS1000 is a very cool idea

Maybe you should ask him to join Jemsite and post pictures of the process. I wonder what the guitar sounds like....

Re: carbon fiber JS1000

That looks cool. I'll bet the tone is quite different, being an enclosed but hollow body. I have a Rainsong that is surprisingly loud. It doesn't have the complexity of my Martin 000-28EC, but it is rock solid and I don't have to fret about hauling it around in the winter or monitor its humidity.

I really dig basket weave carbon graphite on anything, and that JS is seriously doing it for me

So wait...the guitar is hollow? O.o

It could sound awesome, or like blegh. Could sustain for days...but have really shrill tone.

Have to admit, Ibanez could use this kind of innovation working for them because what they have now just isn't.

That build thread is awesome. I don't often go to the DIY threads thanks for the link.
