Cottman, Fay and a few others will build you one for about the cost of an original but it would be brand new. Cottman offered to build me a brand new PMC for about 2,800.00$ USD.

Re: chacnes of finding a gcm

that would be cool, I might consider that if i couldn't find an ATD one. How much do you guys think an original would cost in good condition with a cool swirl.

I think Rich sold his last one for $5000USD, so that is probably about the shape of things at this time.

Re: chacnes of finding a gcm

the best bit is that if you go for a new one you could have a different body wood, or perhaps a maple with green vine fingerboard... what ever you like

my "gmc" has a dna neck

custom gives you more options, original costs more but its original.....

I told him i wanted a PMC body (bass wood) with a maple neck w/ skunk stripe and maple fret board with a tree of life done in purple with a swirled headstock, Steve Special, HS-2 and Tone Zone (In purple) with an original Edge delivered in a new Jem case and that was about the cost he gave me.

Re: chacnes of finding a gcm

The problem with original (if you're not anal about having orig.) is that you're going to pay HIGH prices for something that's not in PERFECT shape. There's always going to be something with them but it fish eye's or scratches or something. Guitars makes in the late 80 to early 90's aren't going to be perfect. I would rather pay less for something brand new than something original and dinged and messed up. But that's just me.

Yeah you're right, I think I'll look into getting one custom made, maybe if my guitar skills ever take me anywhere I can buy an original.haha.
