Coil Tap doubt

I own an JS1000, here is the deal: my coil tap function in the volume doesnt make any difference in my sound, but in the tone coil tap, it do make a difference. Is this ok? should only the tone work?

I don't own a JS but I thought the push-pull on the volume pot was a high pass filter and that the coil split on the tone works for both pickups simultaneously. Experiment by turning the guitar's volume down half-way, then pulling the knob. There should be more high end in one position than in the other.

the tonepoti tap is responsible for the humbucker splitting.
the volumepoti tap activates the high pass filter which you only notice with the volume knob taken back a good bit. doesn't make all that much difference to me, tbh... i kindof ignore it

they are correct, the tone knob is the coil tapping feature, the volume knob has the high pass filter which allows the highs to still be present as you roll the volume down (it usually warms up the guitar a bit when you normall roll down the volume)
