My friend had a home-made acrilic Strat copy in 1983 or something. It was bloody awful! Very heavy, and didn't sound very nice.

Apprently this thing is going to be very heavy. As far as the weight specs, well, we'll have to check the Ibanez site for more details.

Actually the first acrylic or Plexiglas guitars came out in 1969 or 1970. This isn't anything new or innovative by any means.

The VBK is my disapointment Releasing a production model based on an overage of parts from the prior production model seems like a cut corners deal by Ibanez. I mean this isn't your basic RG, etc. It's a top of the line signature model! Seems like the 20th was an excuse to "ease in" the VBK. (and use up the spare parts)

Hey, I'm just throwing in some perspective because I think that there is a threshold between reasonable expectations and expecting too much and it gets crossed often. Judging by your low post count that you're a noob, you may not be as exhausted as I am reading the dozens of threads that tantamount to "Complain to/about Ibanez about freaking everything."

Everybody has their pet feature that they like that Jems or RGs or whatever don't have or used to have and they want it to come back- I get it. People say the 20th is too expensive, yet decry the "affordable" Jem555 because it lowers the prestige (that is, $$$ value) of the line. That's why Glen wanted to consolidate all that into one thread so this board isn't flooded with this kind of stuff. I feel like there's a lot of criticism that is undue and that as "tragic" as it may be, Ibanez isn't as creative as the general public and the Jem can't be everything to everybody- too bad. Yeesh.

guess i am the only happy camper that that thing is what it is, whatever you may think it is. If it would have been the greatest axe EVER i would have to shell out and justify 5k. Now i can sit here get myself a MM P6 and a PRS 20th and still have money to spend on the local hooker if i wanted
