The Curse of the JEM

Funny story - 1989 or 90, while in college, I had an awesome g/f who was making payments on a new 777VBK for me. She was going to surprise me with it for my b-day. Wish I would have known that before I cheated on her.... DOH!
Now I carry the curse of the VBK and I'm forbidden to own one.

Seriously.. why are 777VBK's so hard to find? Low production numbers? Only offered for a couple years? I can never find one F/S. Maybe owner hold on to that model and don't let go. There's about 4 FP's on this site f/s - no VBK's. I like florals too. And whites.. and swirls.. AHHHHHHH!!!

Cool story ^

I'd like to find a PBK Jem. Something about it. I've always liked the look of white on black. I have PWH and a PBK would be the pefect evil twin for my PWH. I want one bad.

The thread might be more aptly titled "The Curse of the Jilted Girlfriend".

Re: The Curse of the JEM

Tim Walls from Australia has a PBK up for sale - he goes under the moniker of IbanezNorthwest - it's in the for sale section of Jemsite ( I know 'cause I bought his BFP off him!)
Cheers

Re: The Curse of the JEM

I'm not sure I'd want a VBK after that story.
What a bummer, I feel for you.

Re: The Curse of the JEM

I want also VBK very badly. It's really beautiful guitar. FP is also fine but there is something about those old Jems. PBK is very nice indeed. I guess it was one of those not so famous Jems.

Few months ago someone was selling 777VBK on bay. It was owned by Steve Vai. He used it as warm up/bus guitar on Alien Love Secrects tour. The guitar was little bit burned after their tour bus burned down for some reason. The orginal neck had burned to dust and pickguard had melted little bit. The one on bay had new neck ofcourse. Luckily they saved that one from the burning bus. Don't remember what was the price.
