Did Ibanez make a guitar with these specs...?

For all the Ibanez guru's.....

Did Ibanez make a RoadStar, Radius, or JS model with a Mahogany body, Maple/Rosewood or Maple/Ebony Neck, AND an Edge Tremolo?

As I remember, JS only with fixed bridge, RG yes, but Sabre or S series is similar to Radus and is mahogany + edge.

Re: Did Ibanez make a guitar with these specs...?

There is indeed such a guitar, to be found in the Proline series from the 1986 spec sheet. The particular model is the PL1880, which came in two flavours, actually - a mahogany/walnut body (WN) and mahogany/maple body (NW). Both have maple/ebony necks with binding. HSS pickups governed by individual on/off toggles and a push-push tone pot to split the humbucker. Of course, they also have an Edge trem (non-recessed). Though they were spec'd out for the 1986 year, you see them with November-December 1985 serial numbers, and some going into 1987, probably using up left-over necks/bodies.

There was also a Japan only variant the PL1990, which was pretty much the same spect except for having sharktooth fingerboard inlays instead of dots. I've only seen maple versions of this one, don't know if they did a walnut.

Needless to say, these guitars are rare and don't come up for sale very often, so prices vary. I've seen them for anywhere between $395-over 1k. A couple of people on here have them and keep them close. Each example is unique owing to the grain of the maple or walnut. The maple ones range from plain/light curl to quilt and even pretty heavy flame. Seems like Ibanez wasn't fussy about sticking to a particular grade for this model, nor are tops/backs always bookmatched either.
