Did Joe Satch chop up a JS1000?

The cover of the new Young Guitar magazine shows what looks like Joe's JS1000 but the ass end of it's been squared off to follow the band logo.

Re: Did Joe Satch chop up a JS1000?

I thought it was just a white logo on a black guitar and it's probably a trick of the light that you can't see the rest of the guitar.

Yuo, pretty sure Jono is right, nomal shape but as the logo runs off the edge of the guitar, you can't see the bottom against a dark background.

Exclamation Re: Did Joe Satch chop up a JS1000?

It's got 24 frets! It's a JS24!!!!!!!!

So no direct mounted neck pickup, then. Interesting...

Re: Did Joe Satch chop up a JS1000?

I've indicated the 21st position in the pic below. As you can see there are three frets more higher up the neck.

Must be a prototype, I thought he said they were going to do something strange with the neck pickup....

Hm I think that's the 19th you've got there...
I made the 12 under the top left corner of the "n". Joes little finger is on the 7th.

I think he said the 24 fretter has a single coil size pu in the neck position??

Willing to be wrong on all counts though

Re: Did Joe Satch chop up a JS1000?

Yeah, you're right. I didn't see a position marker after the 19th position (I think the pearl dot was hard to see because of the way the light hit it) so I assumed it was the 21st position that I pointed the white arrow at.

I think Joe did chop a JS 1000, and it is 24 frets

Just not the one referred to above.

In the Chickenfoot chckenmash (montage) podcast vid at: 2:225-2:27 you see the guitar.

Judge for yourself.

Re: Did Joe Satch chop up a JS1000?

Wow, that's intesting!

That route for the neck pickup looks weird... And I can't say I really dig this off white/yellowish color, either. Of course it's the sound a playability that's most important, but still. lol
